About The Position
As a Teller Trainee at Rockland Trust, you are a frontline branch colleague who provides courteous, efficient customer service and helps customers navigate banking. You warmly welcome customers, learn about their needs, connect them with the appropriate colleague, and share information about banking products suited to their individual circumstances. You perform financial transactions accurately and contribute to branch and company goals while building and maintaining customer relationships. You will work with the training team and branch colleagues to complete Teller Training and develop your knowledge and responsibilities over time.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfort using technology, including computers, to facilitate business goals.
- Sales- and service-oriented personality.
- Ability to maintain a professional appearance.
- Positive approach to interactions with customers and team members.
- Ability to work within normal office requirements, including long periods of standing and continuous customer support.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Willingness and ability to work a flexible work week, which may include weekends, as customer needs dictate.
- Ability to complete required onboarding, job-specific, compliance, regulatory, operational, and continuing education training programs within established timeframes.
Nice To Haves
- One to two years of prior teller experience or cash-handling/customer-service skills.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers entering the branch and guide them to the colleague best equipped to support their needs.
- Provide efficient, effective, and courteous customer support in person and by telephone.
- Provide customers with information about Rockland Trust banking products suited to their needs.
- Accurately process deposits, withdrawals, payments, check cashing, and other financial transactions.
- Make decisions alongside the immediate supervisor, with decision-making responsibilities potentially expanding as knowledge and experience grow.
- Work with the training team and branch colleagues to learn the role and complete Rockland Trust’s Teller Training.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
