About The Position

As a Teller Trainee at Rockland Trust, you are a frontline customer-service colleague who proactively explores customer needs and offers personalized advice to develop and maintain relationships. You provide efficient, effective, and courteous service while performing a variety of financial transactions, contributing to branch and company goals, and helping customers navigate banking. You work with the training team and branch colleagues to learn the role and complete Rockland Trust’s Teller Training. The position is part time at the Bellingham Branch.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Comfort using technology, including computers, to facilitate business goals.
Sales- and service-oriented personality.
Ability to maintain a professional appearance.
Positive approach to interactions with customers and team members.
Ability to work within normal office requirements, including long periods of standing and continuous customer support.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Willingness and ability to work a flexible work week, which may include weekends, as customer needs dictate.
Ability to complete required onboarding, job-specific, compliance, regulatory, operational, and continuing education training programs within established timeframes.

Nice To Haves

One to two years of prior teller experience, or cash-handling/customer-service skills.

Responsibilities

Warmly greet customers entering the branch and guide them to the colleague best able to support their needs.
Provide efficient, effective, and courteous customer support in person and by telephone.
Supply customers with information about Rockland Trust banking products suited to their individual needs.
Accurately process deposits, withdrawals, payments, cash checking, and other financial transactions.
Make decisions alongside the immediate supervisor, with decision-making becoming more extensive as knowledge and experience increase.
Work with the training team and branch team to learn the responsibilities and complete Rockland Trust’s Teller Training.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
