About The Position

The Teller Supervisor is responsible for the direct supervision of the Tellers. Will perform all teller functions while monitoring service and sales quality levels of the teller area. Responsible for scheduling, annual performance reviews, and disciplinary actions for staff under the guidance of the Branch Manager.

Requirements

  • Professional, well-developed interpersonal skills essential to deal courteously and effectively with a diverse group of staff and visitors.
  • Strong Leadership skills needed to coach and lead tellers. Experience required.
  • Work requires knowledge of a multi-line phone system.
  • Intermediate mathematical skills required (calculation and concepts involving decimals, percentages, fractions, etc.). These skills are typically acquired through completion of high school.
  • Work required frequent lifting of up to 20 pounds and occasional lifting of up to 35 pounds when carrying boxes and supplies to the stock room. This activity also requires frequent standing, and occasional bending, squatting, twisting and reaching.

Nice To Haves

  • Cash Handling experience preferred.
  • Experience at a financial institution preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage vault operations, including ordering cash, verifying cash received, filling teller orders and ensuring vault security.
  • Perform ATM balancing and daily vault cash reconciliation.
  • Direct supervision of the teller area, while providing backup assistance to all branch staff as needed.
  • Ensure teller area is adhering to Credit Union policies and procedures.
  • Maintain effective employee relations, foster motivation, and boost morale among staff.
  • Coach and develop assigned staff to ensure that staff are trained and cross-trained in all phases of their jobs.
  • Evaluate the job performance of employees to ensure the delivery of quality member service and accurate transaction processing.
  • Complete verbal/written warnings as needed and annual performance reviews with guidance from the Branch Manager.
  • Responsible for providing account information, interviewing, and opening accounts/IRAs/HSAs/loans for new & existing members and professionally handling the member’s daily needs. Provide a variety of transactions/services to members including all teller transactions, loan processing, closing, and disbursal.
  • Manage staff performance related to teller sells, including teller deposit and loan referrals.
  • Complete various daily, weekly, and monthly duties and reports, including operational, risk, sales, and staffing reports.
  • Coordinate work schedules for full-time and part-time employees with the Branch Manager ensuring adequate staffing for excellent member service.
  • Support the Branch Manager in conducting staff meetings to address improvements, procedure changes, new initiatives, and general updates.
  • May be required to provide coverage for additional Branches beyond the primary Branch of assignment on an as needed basis. In addition, retail staff may be called upon to transfer to other Branch locations.
  • Perform other duties as required.
