About The Position
SIU Credit Union is hiring a part-time Teller 1 to serve as a frequent point of contact for members at its Marion, Illinois branch. The role provides friendly, professional service and accurately processes member transactions, helping members manage their everyday financial needs while maintaining the security and trust of the community. The Teller 1 is expected to work toward Universal Teller status within the first six months. The position is on-site and follows a Monday–Friday schedule with a Saturday rotation.
Requirements
- At least six months of cashier or money-handling experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong decision-making abilities.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Numerical aptitude.
- Must be bondable.
- Detail oriented.
- Passion for helping people and a professional attitude.
Responsibilities
- Deliver professional, friendly service to every member who visits the branch.
- Accurately process member transactions, including in-person visits, mail-in requests, and ATM deposits.
- Balance the cash drawer daily and follow security protocols to protect funds.
- Work toward obtaining Universal Teller status within the first six months on the job.
- Use PC software and office equipment to maintain accurate records of financial activities.
