About The Position
SIU Credit Union is hiring a part-time Teller 1 to serve as a frequent point of contact for members at its Carbondale, Illinois branch. The role focuses on providing friendly, professional service and accurately processing financial transactions while protecting members’ funds and maintaining precise records. The successful candidate will work toward Universal Teller status within the first six months. The position is on-site, non-exempt, and scheduled Monday through Friday with a Saturday rotation.
Requirements
- At least six months of cashier or money-handling experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong decision-making abilities.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Numerical aptitude.
- Must be bondable.
- Detail oriented.
- Passion for helping people and a professional attitude.
Responsibilities
- Deliver professional, friendly service to every member who visits the branch.
- Accurately process member transactions, including in-person transactions, mail-in requests, and ATM deposits.
- Balance the cash drawer daily and follow security protocols to safeguard funds.
- Work toward obtaining Universal Teller status within the first six months on the job.
- Use PC software and office equipment to maintain accurate records of financial activities.
