About The Position
The Teller 1 is a front-line connection between SIU Credit Union and its members, providing friendly and accurate service while handling financial transactions. The role processes deposits, withdrawals, and payments to support members’ daily financial needs and helps maintain the security and trust of the community. The successful candidate is expected to work toward Universal Teller status within the first six months.
Requirements
- At least six months of cashier or money-handling experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong decision-making abilities.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Numerical aptitude.
- Must be bondable.
- Detail oriented.
- Passion for helping people and a professional attitude that makes members feel welcome.
Responsibilities
- Deliver professional, friendly service to every member who visits the branch.
- Accurately process member transactions, including in-person visits, mail-in requests, and ATM deposits.
- Balance the cash drawer daily and follow security protocols to keep funds secure.
- Work toward obtaining Universal Teller status within the first six months on the job.
- Use PC software and office equipment to maintain accurate records of financial activities.
