Optum Home & Community Care, part of Optum, is building an integrated care model that addresses patients’ physical, mental, and social needs. The Urgent Care program is a longitudinal, integrated care delivery program. The Urgent Care Registered Nurse works within the RN scope of practice, in close collaboration with the team and potentially multiple providers, under provider direction. The RN reports to the Urgent Care Clinical Services Manager (CSM) and supports Optum’s Models of Care. This home-based role provides virtual, primarily telephonic care and direction to enrolled or engaged patients and members across various settings. The RN delivers medical care services, including triage and coordination, and collaborates with providers, advanced practice clinicians (APCs), patients, and community members. The position supports continuous patient coverage, with shifts that may include weekdays, weeknights, weekends, and holidays. The schedule includes recurring weekend coverage, holidays, and shifts that may vary. Employees may take up to six weekend shifts off per year for PTO; unapproved time away or unpaid time off on a scheduled weekend may require additional weekend shifts. Holiday schedules are arranged at the beginning of the year. The position is remote from anywhere in the United States, subject to UnitedHealth Group’s Telecommuter Policy. An active compact RN license is required at hire, and additional licensure in assigned states must be obtained within six months. A dedicated home-office space and high-speed internet are required. Candidates must pass a drug test before beginning employment.
