About The Position

Under general supervision, receives and relays incoming and outgoing telephone calls for the Mount Sinai Medical Center, including paging physicians and other Medical Center employees. Handles emergencies such as Team 7000 (Cardiac Arrest), crisis-team calls, and emergency preparedness notifications. Provides directory information to callers and transfers calls as appropriate. The position is located at 150 E. 42nd Street, 2nd Floor, Telecom, and works weekdays from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Operate the switchboard and route incoming calls to appropriate departments.
• Initiate emergency calls, including Team 7000, Fire Alert, and Message One notifications.
• Provide specific directory information to internal and external inquiries in accordance with policies and procedures governing disclosure of directory information.
• Operate the page position, including completing the Evening/Weekend On-Call Physician Sign-In form.
• Perform other related duties.
