About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU services to chronically and critically ill patients who need extended healing and recovery. The Telemetry Technician continuously monitors assigned patient monitors, identifies rhythms and artifacts, and responds to alarms promptly and appropriately. The role includes completing EKG interpretations and ensuring strip interpretations are validated by an RN. This is a PRN, as-needed position scheduled for 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. at Select Specialty Hospital - St. Louis North, located inside Christian Northeast Hospital.

Requirements

• Complete and pass the EKG class for Monitor Technicians and required competencies on the education platform within 30 days of starting in the position.
• Pass other tests and competencies as required by Select Medical.

Responsibilities

• Continuously observe assigned monitors and ensure appropriate, timely responses to alarms.
• Verify identification of basic rhythms, lethal rhythms, and artifact.
• Maintain EKG monitor alarms and respond to all alarms as needed.
• Complete EKG interpretations, including rate, regularity, PRI, QRS, QTI, QTc, ST segment, waveform alterations, and rhythm interpretation.
• Ensure strip interpretations are validated by an RN.
