About The Position

The Telemetry Tech is an interdisciplinary team member who helps meet patient and family care needs and supports a safe care environment. Under the direct supervision of a registered nurse, the technician monitors patients on telemetry and communicates with physicians and other members of the health care team about patient rhythms and rhythm changes. The role contributes to care planning and interventions under the supervision of a registered nurse and/or provider, and follows regulatory requirements, nursing policies, procedures, and standards.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Successful completion of a basic rhythm interpretation course.
• Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
• Solution-oriented decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Flexibility, team-building ability, and demonstration of honesty, respect, and trust in daily work.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• CRAT (Certified Rhythm Analysis Technician) national certification required within one year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor all patients on telemetry under the direct supervision of an RN.
• Communicate with physicians and health care team members about patients’ rhythms and rhythm changes.
• Assist the health care team with care plans, interventions, and provision of a safe environment.
• Function as an interdisciplinary team member to meet patient and family care needs.
• Maintain regulatory requirements and comply with nursing policies, procedures, and standards.
• Take responsibility consistent with professional expectations under the supervision of a registered nurse and/or provider.
