Under the direct supervision of the Public Safety Support Specialist and the general oversight of the Chief of Police / Director of Public Safety, this position serves as a telecommunicator and records technician for the ENMU Department of Public Safety. This role combines responsibilities typically divided between records and dispatch divisions. The technician will collect, organize, maintain, store, and distribute physical and digital records, ensuring accuracy, security, and accessibility. The position requires certified use of telecommunications systems over FCC licensed channels during regular business hours and special events. It also involves administrative duties related to emergency notifications and communication during critical incidents, with access to surveillance and access control technologies. The role requires significant public interaction in various situations and a minimum of forty hours per week, with potential overtime for weekends, holidays, special events, and call-outs.
