About The Position

The Telecommunications Representative operates the telephone control board and paging system, dispatches incoming calls, and pages internal and external contacts and on-call clinical staff during and after regular business hours. The role coordinates telecommunications systems throughout Thompson Health System, including telephone, voicemail, pager, cell phone/Nextel phone, and public address paging systems. This is a full-time evening position scheduled Thursday through Monday, 3 p.m. to 11 p.m., including weekends and holidays. The pay range is $18.55–$22.00, with starting pay based on experience.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous operator/switchboard and customer service experience.
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft products.
• In-depth knowledge of the operations and procedures related to health system switchboard, voicemail, paging, and cell phone/Nextel phone systems.
• Ability to function calmly under stressful situations related to calling a Code on the public address system.
• Ability to make flexible decisions and prioritize assignments.
• Ability to work independently and within a group.
• Ability to protect confidential information.

Nice To Haves

• Associate degree preferred.

Responsibilities
