About The Position

Responsible for facilitating proficient operation of a hospital communication system. This role involves handling both incoming and outgoing calls with speed and accuracy, acting as central control for mobile pagers, responding to various alarm systems, and issuing keys to authorized personnel. The operator must be familiar with all code-emergency situations and the appropriate procedures to alert personnel and record occurrences. Additionally, the role includes compiling on-call information and resolving basic discrepancies.

Requirements

High School Diploma or Equivalent required
2-3 years preferred customer service or call-center experience
Good inter-personal and phone skills.
Commitment to demonstrate consistent outstanding customer service.
Confident to quickly assess situations and make reasonable judgement decisions.
Must be able to prioritize rationally.

Responsibilities

Perform various clerical duties and operate computer equipment including the switchboard console, alphamate pager, voice-paging system, portable radios, and cellular telephone.
Provide information to callers and visitors.
Handle both incoming and outgoing calls with speed and accuracy.
Demonstrate familiarity with all code-emergency situations and the appropriate procedure to alert proper personnel and record occurrences.
Act as central control for mobile pagers, take and relay messages as required.
Respond to various alarm systems located at the switchboard.
Issue keys that are kept at the switchboard to authorized personnel and maintain an accurate log.
Compile on-call information for hospital personnel and all meetings scheduled in the building.
Resolve basic discrepancies and refer all others to the appropriate department.
