About The Position

The Infrastructure Integration Engineer is responsible for ensuring Infrastructure (Equipment Huts) are fully configured, validated, and deployment-ready prior to field installation. This role owns the accuracy and performance readiness of network configurations, directly impacting installation efficiency, first-time-right deployment success, and overall project margin. By translating engineering designs into fully functional configurations, this role reduces field rework, accelerates deployment timelines, and ensures high-quality, customer-ready network solutions across Telamon’s infrastructure portfolio.

Requirements

  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, bills of material, and customer requirements and translate them into complete infrastructure configurations and equipment builds.
  • Experience configuring, integrating, and validating telecommunications infrastructure equipment across multiple platforms and vendors.
  • Working knowledge of optical networking and transport technologies, including DWDM, SONET, Carrier Ethernet, and Open ROADM.
  • Experience with telecommunications (DC) power systems, alarming systems, and related infrastructure components.
  • Understanding of system testing, validation processes, and deployment requirements.
  • Familiarity with ISO/TL9000 or similar quality standards.
  • Working knowledge of Ciena, 1Finity, Nokia, and Infinera product families preferred.
  • Proficiency with standard office, documentation, and reporting software.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects or configuration tasks while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to identify root causes, recommend corrective actions, and support preventive process improvements.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound technical judgment in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to clearly explain technical concepts.
  • Experience supporting customer interactions and cross-functional project teams.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with engineering, project management, production, field teams, vendors, and customers
  • Associate’s degree in network engineering, electronics, telecommunications, or a related technical field; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of related telecommunications integration, network infrastructure, deployment support, or equipment engineering experience.
  • Experience working with telecommunications infrastructure equipment in pre-deployment, staging, integration, testing, or similar environments preferred experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develops the proper infrastructure equipment installation, power systems, and network alarming systems, based on engineering specifications and customer requirements.
  • Integrates multi-vendor telecommunications technologies into standardized and customer-specific solutions.
  • Reviews engineering designs, specifications, and related documentation to translate requirements into complete and functional system builds.
  • Ensures all equipment assemblies, configurations, and supporting components meet operational, environmental, and performance expectations.
  • Validates configurations and integrated equipment against engineering designs, quality standards, and customer requirements prior to deployment.
  • Performs system-level testing, bench testing, and readiness verification to ensure equipment is deployment-ready before release to the field.
  • Diagnoses and resolves configuration, integration, and equipment readiness issues during pre-deployment stages.
  • Identifies root causes of configuration or integration errors and implements corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Assists with material verification, equipment inspection, and readiness review activities as needed.
  • Supervises testing standards and environment validations as need with certified test vendors.
  • Develops and maintains accurate configuration documentation, test results, as-built records, and change documentation.
  • Ensures all configuration and integration changes are traceable, controlled, and compliant with applicable quality standards, including ISO/TL9000 where required.
  • Supports downstream teams by maintaining high-quality documentation for field installation, operations, and support functions.
  • Maintains time, project, and testing records as required.
  • Partners with engineering, project management, production, and field teams to ensure a seamless transition from design through deployment.
  • Interfaces with other departments to ensure deadlines, customer requirements, and project deliverables are achieved.
  • Provides technical guidance to internal teams and customers regarding equipment integration, configuration, testing, and deployment readiness.
  • Supports continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to streamline integration processes, improve quality, and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Actively identifies and implements improvements to processes, tools, and workflows to enhance efficiency, quality, and business outcomes.
  • Leverages available tools and technologies, including AI-enabled solutions, to streamline workflows, improve efficiency, and enhance outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain accurate configuration documentation, test results, and Engineering Change Notices (ECN).
  • Ensure all configuration changes are traceable, controlled, and compliant with ISO/TL9000 ECN standards.
  • Maintain assembly and quality documentation to support downstream teams (field installation, operations, and support).
  • Partner with customer engineering, project management, and field teams to ensure seamless transition from design to deployment.
  • Provide technical guidance to internal teams and customers related to configuration, testing, and system readiness.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to streamline infrastructure processes and improve deployment outcomes.
