About The Position

We’re adding a Steel Detailing Technician who will own the creation of precise shop and fabrication drawings and ensure our steel packages are delivered accurately and on time.

Requirements

• Proven background as a Structural Steel Detailer or equivalent.
• Hands-on proficiency in CAD (e.g., AutoCAD, Tekla, or comparable).
• Working knowledge of structural steel design and fabrication workflows.
• High attention to detail and comfort working to tight timelines.
• Clear communicator and collaborative teammate.
• Familiarity with applicable steel detailing standards and codes.
• Proficiency Blueprint reading

Nice To Haves

• Associate’s degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create comprehensive shop and fabrication drawings for structural steel.
• Translate architectural/engineering drawings into accurate detailing.
• Build and edit CAD models and drawing sets (AutoCAD, Tekla, or similar).
• Partner with engineers and project managers to confirm compliance with specs.
• Coordinate with fabrication teams to resolve production-related design questions.
• Keep meticulous records of revisions, versions, and approvals.
• Join project meetings and report on detailing progress.
