About The Position

HealthCorps is recruiting Teens Make Health Happen (TMHH) Mentors to serve in the greater Ventura County area, including Oxnard, during the 2026–2027 academic year. Mentors lead an innovative wellness club at middle or high schools, serving as near-peer mentors who help teens make healthier choices and develop leadership skills. The role involves implementing programming at assigned school sites, supporting teen-led wellness activities, and connecting students and staff with relevant local health resources. HealthCorps prioritizes placements for the full academic year, with some opportunities for a single semester or placements at one or three club sites. A stipend is provided based on the number of sites served, and HealthCorps will work with the mentor’s university to facilitate college credit, course credit, or practicum hours depending on university requirements. Mentors also receive ongoing training, professional development, and mentorship.
