About The Position

HealthCorps is recruiting college students to serve as near-peer mentors in its Teens Make Health Happen (TMHH) wellness club at 1–3 middle or high schools in Southern Oklahoma. Mentors work with students throughout the academic year to encourage healthier choices, develop teen leadership, and support sustainable improvements in community health and wellness. Applicants must be within driving distance of Ardmore, Dickson, Kingston, or Madill, Oklahoma. The role involves at least 8 hours of commitment each week, including 3–4 or more hours weekly at assigned school sites for instruction. Full-year placements are prioritized, though a limited number of single-semester commitments and placements at 1–3 club sites are available. The program offers a stipend in monthly installments based on the number of sites served, and HealthCorps will work with the mentor’s university to provide college or course credit or practicum hours, depending on university requirements. Mentors also receive ongoing training, professional development, and mentorship at no cost.
