About The Position

The Teen and University Program Manager develops, administers, and partners with strategic organizations for engaging pre-teen, teen, and university programming aligned to Columbus Museum of Art’s strategic plan. This position collaborates cross-departmentally as part of an ambitious team shaping the future direction of youth and university programming at both museum locations.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree and prior experience in informal learning institutions, non-profit organizations, or after-school programs required.
  • Demonstrates a welcoming, encouraging, friendly, and people-centered demeanor.
  • Demonstrates an open mindset and a passion for learning.
  • Enjoys working with teens and diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated planning, organizational, programming, and budgeting abilities.
  • Skilled communicator and collaborator both orally and written.
  • Must be agile with computers and technology, and willing to figure things out in autonomous and responsible ways.
  • Must be available on Saturdays, and occasional Thursday evenings (until 9PM) and Sundays.

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in studio art, digital media, education, or related field preferred.
  • Skill in design and video editing software, social media, and studio art tools preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Administers teen initiatives, especially teen council and standalone teen programs at CMA’s two locations and occasionally off-site. This includes collaborating with Advancement to support fundraising and reporting to funders, contributing to marketing materials, logistics, including supply ordering and event arrangements, developing and tracking budgets, and impact evaluation and reporting.
  • Build and manage partnerships with youth organizations, including schools, to grow and diversify audience reach in line with strategic plan priorities.
  • Collaborate with Learning, Engagement, and Curatorial staff to develop curricula and experiences for existing and future programs for teen and university audiences.
  • Work closely with Deputy Director for Learning and Engagement to create strategic university partnerships aligned to CMA’s strategic plan.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise program mentors and interns for teen programs, as needed.
  • Document and lead program reflection as ongoing, formative assessment.
  • Provides support for professional development of teachers as needed.
  • Other duties as needed.
