About The Position

The TECO Energy Student Program is an opportunity for college students to gain real-world experience in their field of study, apply classroom knowledge in a professional setting, contribute to meaningful projects, and grow their careers. The program partners with accredited four-year colleges and universities to recruit motivated students eager to learn and make an impact. Students will take on challenging assignments that align with their academic background and the company's business needs.

Requirements

• Must be enrolled in an accredited university as a college undergraduate or a graduate level post-secondary educational program in a related discipline for the first semester the student joins the program.
• Must be a Junior or Senior.
• Must be enrolled in the university's co-op program (proof of enrollment required) or will be considered an intern if not eligible for the co-op program.
• Responding to storms will be considered a condition of employment.
• Must be able to participate in response/recovery activities related to emergencies/disasters.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screening, physical exam (as applicable), and background check (including employment, criminal and motor vehicle).

Nice To Haves

• Political science or related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Assist with researching public policy issues.
• Coordinate community and corporate events.
• Track legislative and regulatory developments.
• Prepare communications and briefing materials for leadership.
