About The Position

Wiley|Wilson is seeking a Technology Systems Project Designer to join their team in Richmond, VA. This role involves designing telecommunications networks, structured cabling, audio/visual systems, and electronic security systems for various vertical building projects. The position requires close collaboration with senior Technology Systems staff and multidisciplinary project teams to deliver high-quality designs and foster technical expertise. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, effective time management, communication, and organizational abilities, with a preference for individuals who enjoy collaborative work and adopt a proactive approach to learning and problem-solving.

Requirements

3-7 years of experience designing telecommunications networks, structured cabling systems, audio/visual systems, and electronic security systems for vertical building projects.
Experience within the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry is required.
Proficiency in Autodesk Revit is required, including model setup, linking, navigation, and the ability to develop Technology Systems designs from project initiation through completion.
Proficient with Microsoft Office.
Organizational and time-management skills needed to manage multiple assignments.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Eligible to work in the United States.
Eligible to obtain a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

An Associate's degree or higher in Engineering, Architecture, or a related field is preferred, although an equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.
Experience with federal government projects is a plus.
BICSI Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) or AVIXA CTS certification is also desirable, as is an interest in pursuing either certification as part of your professional development.

Responsibilities

Design telecommunications networks, structured cabling systems, audio/visual systems, and electronic security systems for a variety of vertical building projects.
Develop and coordinate Revit models and construction documents from design through completion.
Work with senior Technology Systems staff to deliver quality designs and continue developing your technical expertise.
Coordinate Technology Systems designs with architectural and other engineering disciplines.
Participate in client and project meetings to coordinate project scope and design requirements.
Help ensure work meets project quality standards, schedules, and budgets.
