About The Position

Mastercard's Tech Regulatory of Risk & Controls organization is seeking a Technology Risk Analyst I to support a regulatory execution, customer assurance, and controls program. This role will focus on meeting security requirements for customer and regulatory obligations, including adherence to regulatory standards, providing compliance support, monitoring, and reporting on the effectiveness of internal controls. Key activities include supporting SOC 1 / SOC 2 attestation and reporting, validating IT general controls (ITGCs), assessing internal controls to identify risks, defining and tracking remediation actions, and evaluating the design and operating effectiveness of IT and business process controls. The role will also support automation and process optimization efforts to enhance the efficiency and reliability of the assurance program. The ideal candidate will possess a strategic and tactical mindset, a working understanding of IT general controls and control frameworks, and the ability to ensure compliance with security, technology, and financial standards, as well as industry best practices.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or accelerated Master’s degree, with an anticipated graduation date between December 2026 and June 2027.
  • Pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Accounting, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field.
  • Experience through coursework, internships, or academic projects involving governance, risk, compliance (GRC), audit, or regulatory processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and coordinate projects, assignments, or team-based initiatives.
  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to learn and apply new tools, systems, and methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States, now as well as in the future, without employer sponsorship.
  • Candidates on an F1 visa (including those with CPT or OPT authorization) are not eligible for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Support a regulatory execution, customer assurance, and controls program.

  • Monitor and report on the ongoing operating effectiveness of the internal control environment.
  • Support SOC 1 / SOC 2 attestation and reporting activities.
  • Validate IT general controls (ITGCs) across in-scope systems, applications, and processes.
  • Assess internal controls to proactively identify risks.
  • Define remediation actions and track remediation efforts.
  • Evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of IT and business process controls.
  • Coordinate evidence collection for customer and regulatory requests.
  • Support opportunities to drive automation and process optimization, including streamlining regulatory engagements, evidence gathering, control testing, and continuous control monitoring.
