About The Position

Mastercard's internship program offers more than hands-on work. The Database Engineering (DBE) organization engineers and operates enterprise-scale database platforms, delivering automation, reliability, security, and compliance across PostgreSQL, Oracle, Cassandra, Redis, MongoDB, SQL Server, and cloud databases. The team enables modern data solutions for GenAI, LLMs, vector search, and RAG workloads, while driving platform innovation through automation, observability, and self-service capabilities. DBE ensures scalable, resilient, and future-ready data services for mission-critical applications for Mastercard.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelors degree, with an anticipated graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028
  • Exposure to system design concepts and an interest in building scalable, reliable software solutions.
  • Experience through coursework, projects, or internships with AI/ML technologies, including machine learning model integration, agentic AI frameworks, or intelligent automation solutions.
  • Familiarity with automation and configuration management tools such as Ansible or Chef.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States, now as well as in the future, without employer sponsorship. Students or recent graduates in the United States on an F1 visa (including those with CPT or OPT authorization) are not eligible for this role.
