About The Position

Zions Bancorporation’s Enterprise Technology and Operations team is seeking an experienced Technology Product Owner to drive the vision and execution of teams supporting ACH and Real Time Payments platforms. The role bridges business strategy and technical execution, with a focus on improving customer experience and achieving strategic enterprise objectives. The Product Owner serves as the customer proxy on an agile team and works with product management, technology, and business stakeholders to define stories, prioritize the team backlog, solicit requirements, lead user acceptance testing, support product releases, and accept completed stories. The role operates in a dynamic production and project environment and supports delivery of company milestones for new and existing products. This position is fully in office, five days a week, at the Zions Technology Center in Midvale, Utah. The 400,000-square-foot technology and operations campus includes a modern café, natural light and fresh air, outdoor recreation and bike facilities, locker rooms, electric vehicle charging stations, and proximity to the UTA TRAX station. At least 75% of the building is powered by on-site renewable solar energy, and the building is LEED-certified.

Requirements

At least 6 years of experience driving strategic product creation, accelerating value delivery, and applying innovative product development practices such as MVP, lean startup, or design thinking.
Demonstrated success as a Product Owner in a large enterprise environment, using scaling practices to build complex, cross-functional solutions.
Exceptional facilitation, decision-making, and communication skills, including the ability to present confidently to leadership.
Bachelor’s degree in information systems, business, computer science, or a related field, and at least 4 years of experience contributing to strategic product creation and development, accelerating customer value, working with cross-functional teams, and applying innovative product development practices. A combination of education and experience may meet the qualifications.

Nice To Haves

Experience with JIRA, Azure DevOps (ADO), Confluence, or similar tools.
Product Owner certification.
Financial Product Owner experience.

Responsibilities

Create, own, prioritize, and manage the team backlog, collaborating with product management, business stakeholders, and the team to refine and prioritize work items.
Develop detailed product feature specifications and ensure development teams understand them.
Lead and participate in agile team ceremonies, including iteration planning, refinement, demos, and retrospectives, serving as the primary proxy for customers and the business.
Assess technical feasibility and prioritize enabling work to maintain team velocity.
Accept stories according to acceptance criteria and customer intent.
Mitigate roadblocks that could prevent the team from completing release or sprint goals.
Engage business, technology, and product management stakeholders to translate incoming features and broader product visions into actionable requirements.
Lead business systems analysis and implementation, including proposing new processes, gathering requirements, and designing user acceptance test plans based on end-user needs.
Lead user acceptance testing and support product releases.
