About The Position

FirstLine Schools is seeking a dynamic Technology Lead Teacher to bring the Hello World computer science and digital literacy curriculum to life for students in grades K-8. This position combines the core responsibilities of a FirstLine teacher with leadership in tech integration and STEM innovation. The Technology Lead Teacher will design and deliver engaging, culturally responsive technology instruction while collaborating with colleagues to enhance digital learning across the school.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in education, computer science, STEM, or a related field
Louisiana teacher certification (completed or in progress), or eligibility for out-of-state applicants
Strong background in technology, computer science, or digital learning
Belief in every student’s ability to achieve
Deep curiosity and enthusiasm for technology and innovation
Strong instructional and classroom management skills
Effective collaboration and communication
Commitment to equity, high expectations, and culturally responsive pedagogy
Self-reflective and responsive to feedback

Nice To Haves

Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience preferred

Responsibilities

Plan and implement high-quality technology lessons using the Hello World curriculum, focusing on coding, robotics, and digital problem-solving.
Design lessons aligned to grade-level expectations and standards, ensuring mastery through clear objectives and assessments.
Use checks for understanding and provide meaningful feedback to students to support their learning and critical thinking.
Prepare students to solve complex, real-world problems with no obvious answer.
Establish a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom that maximizes instructional time.
Serve as the school-based expert on the Hello World curriculum and associated platforms (e.g., Scratch, Python, Micro:bit, etc.).
Collaborate with other teachers and school leaders to integrate computer science and digital literacy into core academic areas.
Lead or support technology-related extracurriculars such as coding clubs or robotics teams.
Manage inventory of devices and materials used for technology instruction.
Participate actively in school-wide professional development, team meetings, and coaching aligned with FirstLine’s Vision of Teaching Excellence.
Collaborate effectively with colleagues, share best practices, and engage in ongoing learning.
Build strong relationships with students and families to promote academic success and joy in learning.
