About The Position

This 10-week Summer Internship Program offers students the opportunity to dive into real projects, gain hands-on experience, and shape their future within Barclays' Technology teams. Banking is heavily reliant on technology, and as part of a Technology team, interns will be at the core of the business, contributing to critical functions such as transaction processing, data management, and customer support. The program aims to harness the power of technology to support the economy and make a difference in people's lives. Interns will work in an environment focused on advancing machine learning, leveraging Gen AI, and harnessing FinTech, learning from industry experts.

Requirements

• Graduating between December 2027 and June 2028.
• GPA of 3.2 or above.
• Strong foundation in computer science or a related field.
• Passion for programming languages, development tools, and systems architecture.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and improve software utilizing various engineering methodologies to provide business, platform, and technology capabilities.
• Develop and deliver high-quality software solutions using industry-aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools, ensuring code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration with business objectives.
• Participate in code reviews and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
• Adhere to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
• Implement effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
