About The Position

HDR is hiring a Technology Designer for its Building Engineering Services Group. The role focuses on designing integrated low-voltage technology systems and related electrical components for facilities, including data centers and commercial environments. The designer prepares construction documents and specifications, performs system design and engineering assignments, and works with project teams and owners. The position also supports other designers, project coordinators, and technicians and may conduct quality assurance and quality control reviews of their work.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or a combination of education and relevant experience.
Minimum 5 years of experience in low-voltage system design.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Commitment to actively participating in HDR's employee-owned culture.

Nice To Haves

Registered Communication Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification.
Familiarity with MS Project, MS Visio, and Autodesk.

Responsibilities

Design integrated low-voltage systems.
Calculate electrical power loads, determine UPS requirements, and design system-related single-line diagrams.
Complete sets of construction documents.
Investigate variables to meet assignment objectives.
Independently perform low-voltage technology system and electrical engineering assignments with broad general instruction from the Project Manager regarding expected results.
Write specifications covering low-voltage technology system matters.
Perform reviews and work directly with owners as part of the project team.
Assist other designers, project coordinators, or technicians as needed.
Be responsible for work in all phases of the low-voltage technology design process.
Conduct QA/QC on the work of other project coordinators or technicians as needed.
Perform other duties as needed.
