About The Position

The Technology Construction Administration Specialist is responsible for supporting the successful design, coordination, installation, and commissioning of technology and alarm systems throughout the construction lifecycle. This role requires a hands-on professional with strong construction knowledge and experience working in existing facilities and active construction environments. The individual will conduct site investigations, review technology and alarm system submittals, monitor installation quality, and ensure compliance with design documents and industry standards. The ideal candidate combines technical expertise with strong communication, coordination, and project management skills to effectively balance client requirements, construction activities, and site constraints. This position requires the ability to interpret mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), and technology drawings and specifications, identify issues, recommend practical solutions, and collaborate with contractors, vendors, and project teams to achieve successful project outcomes.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of construction experience involving technology and alarm systems.
  • Experience using Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong knowledge of BICSI standards and commonly accepted technology industry standards.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, problem-solving, and project coordination skills.
  • Ability to work independently in active construction and occupied building environments.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a BICSI RCDD-certified professional, preferred.
  • Associate degree preferred; equivalent experience considered.

Responsibilities

  • Review technology and alarm system product submittals and shop drawings for compliance with project requirements.
  • Conduct site surveys and coordinate technology and alarm system installations.
  • Perform construction observations to verify compliance with contract documents and specifications.
  • Evaluate workmanship and installation quality and provide recommendations for corrective action when necessary.
  • Identify issues, develop solutions, and coordinate with project stakeholders to resolve construction challenges.
  • Monitor project progress and track construction activities related to technology and alarm systems.
  • Support project design, coordination, construction administration, and commissioning activities.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects assigned by the Director of Technology.
