About The Position

True North Advisors is seeking a Technology and Business Operations Specialist to join its Business Operations team and advance the firm's technology and process improvement initiatives. The role supports the firm's technology roadmap, optimizes business processes, and helps scale systems and workflows that support clients and employees. It offers broad exposure to wealth management operations, business systems, data management, artificial intelligence, process automation, and strategic technology initiatives.

The specialist works with internal stakeholders and external IT resources to coordinate technology initiatives from planning through deployment. The role includes learning the firm's processes, workflows, technology ecosystem, and key systems; supporting core applications; translating business needs into practical solutions; and improving efficiency, data quality, operational controls, and user adoption. The specialist also evaluates practical AI use cases and contributes to technology governance, cybersecurity awareness, data management, reporting, documentation, training, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, Finance, Operations, or a related field.
• Two to five years of experience in business systems, technology operations, business analysis, process improvement, consulting, or a related role.
• Strong interest in the intersection of business operations, technology, data, and artificial intelligence.
• Experience supporting system implementations, workflow optimization, technology projects, or operational improvement initiatives.
• Ability to learn complex business processes and technology platforms quickly and translate business needs into practical solutions.
• Working knowledge of AI tools, workflow automation, and their practical application in a business environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365, including Excel, Teams, SharePoint, and related productivity tools.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Detail-oriented self-starter with a strong sense of ownership, sound judgment, and a continuous improvement mindset.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate effectively with stakeholders across the firm.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with Addepar and Salesforce.
• Experience in wealth management, financial services, a family office, or another professional services environment.

Responsibilities

• Support strategic initiatives that improve firm-wide efficiency, scalability, and the employee and client experience.
• Partner with external IT resources and internal stakeholders to implement the firm's technology roadmap and coordinate technology initiatives from planning through deployment.
• Develop knowledge of the firm's business processes, operational workflows, technology ecosystem, and key systems.
• Become a subject matter resource for core firm applications and support their administration, adoption, and optimization.
• Gather business requirements, assist with solution design, coordinate testing, document results, and support change management and user adoption.
• Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, improve data quality, reduce manual work, and strengthen operational controls through technology and automation.
• Evaluate emerging AI capabilities and help implement practical, responsible use cases that improve productivity, client service, and decision-making.
• Liaise among business users, vendors, consultants, and technology providers to resolve issues and advance projects.
• Create and maintain process documentation, system procedures, training materials, and technology best practices.
• Support technology governance, cybersecurity awareness, data management, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
