About The Position

The Technologist Aide supports the Diagnostic Imaging department by coordinating with Special Procedures Technologists and other Interventional Radiology staff. The role assists with patient transport and transfers, prepares the scanning room between patients, and provides clerical support to technologists. It also involves performing varied tasks that help maintain an efficient and organized department. This is a per-diem position scheduled Monday through Friday during day hours. Pay is $19.94–$22.50 per hour, based on experience.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Demonstrated team-building and process-improvement skills, including developing responsibilities and promoting department efficiencies.
Communication skills and the ability to prioritize assignments.
Ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with system departments, referring physicians, and other health care professionals.
Time-management and multitasking abilities to help maintain efficient and effective departmental operations.
Friendly, service-oriented approach to meeting customer needs.
Working knowledge of Diagnostic Imaging testing and understanding of the complex scheduling issues involved in timely and appropriate patient testing.

Responsibilities

Support the Diagnostic Imaging department through interaction and coordination with Special Procedures Technologists and other Interventional Radiology staff.
Assist with safe patient transport and/or transfers.
Prepare the scanning room between patients by wiping down equipment, changing linens, and attaching the appropriate coil for the next scheduled exam.
Provide clerical support to technologists, including responding to telephone calls, verifying patient demographic and DI screening form information, and obtaining prior testing information such as lab results and previous imaging studies and results as needed.
Assist with and perform diverse tasks required to maintain an efficient and organized department.
