About The Position

The Technologist Aide supports the Diagnostic Imaging department by coordinating with Special Procedures Technologists and other Interventional Radiology staff. The role helps maintain safe, efficient patient flow and an organized department. Duties include assisting with patient transport and transfers, preparing scanning rooms between patients, and providing clerical support to technologists. The aide also performs other varied tasks needed to support departmental operations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Demonstrated communication and assignment-prioritization skills.
• Ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with system departments, referring physicians, and other health care professionals.
• Time-management and multitasking abilities.
• Working knowledge of Diagnostic Imaging testing and complex scheduling issues.
• Commitment to meeting customer needs in a friendly, service-oriented manner.

Nice To Haves

• Prior medical imaging experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with safe transport and/or transfer of patients.
• Prepare the scanning room between patients by wiping down equipment, changing linens, and attaching the appropriate coil for the next scheduled exam.
• Provide clerical support to technologists, including responding to telephone calls, verifying patient demographic information and Diagnostic Imaging screening forms, and obtaining prior testing information such as lab results and previous imaging studies and results as needed.
• Assist with and perform diverse tasks required to maintain an efficient and organized department.
• Coordinate and interact with Special Procedures Technologists and other Interventional Radiology staff.
• Support timely and appropriate patient testing by applying working knowledge of Diagnostic Imaging testing and related scheduling issues.
• Promote teamwork, process improvement, department efficiencies, and a friendly, service-oriented experience for customers.
