About The Position

Textron Systems is hiring a skilled Fabricator/Assembler for its Howe & Howe business area in Waterboro, Maine. The role supports production through fabrication, maintenance, and repair of component parts and products. The employee follows technical instructions and documents, examines blueprints, assembles machinery, operates heavy machinery, collaborates with engineers developing and testing products, and conducts quality checks. The position involves a fast-paced manufacturing environment with frequent standing and work in hot, humid conditions. Experience level will be determined by the hiring team.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Ability to work a 40-hour work week.
Ability to read and understand product schematics and assembly instructions.
Knowledge of manufacturing technology.
Good background in basic electrical principles.
Basic understanding of hydraulic principles and hydraulic hose assembly.
Ability to obtain a security clearance.
Ability to meet the stated medium physical demands, including lifting up to 35 pounds individually and up to 70 pounds as a team.
Frequent standing and working in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Perform production tasks, including fabrication, maintenance, and repair of component parts and products.
Follow detailed verbal and written instructions, diagrams, blueprints, and other technical documents.
Examine blueprints and assemble machinery.
Operate heavy machinery.
Collaborate with engineers designing and testing new products.
Perform quality control, identify defective items, and handle them according to established procedures.
Maintain tidy work areas and follow instructions to meet safety and quality requirements.
Use attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
