About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technician V to join our team responsible for the development, production, and integration of products for weapon systems. The successful candidate will possess a strong background in mechanical, electromechanical, fabrication and/or machining/manufacturing, with expertise in constructing, troubleshooting, calibrating, adjusting, testing, diagnosing, and maintaining equipment, components, devices, or systems. This role is critical to our mission, and the ideal candidate will be able to work independently, think critically, and contribute to our team's success.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a technical role, with a focus on mechanical, manufacturing, test, or electrical areas.
  • Proven experience with mechanical assembly, including welding/sheet metal fabrication, machining, and testing.
  • Proficient in using various tools and equipment, such as machining tools, CNC equipment, test equipment, and measurement instruments
  • Experience in reading and understanding engineering drawings to create part or construct assemblies.
  • Ability to work effectively independently seeking new opportunities to assist other individuals and programs.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, machining) preferred.
  • Familiarity with weapon systems, including design, development, and testing.
  • Knowledge of programming languages, G and M Codes, CAM Software.
  • AWS welding certification or similar welding experience.
  • Experience operating forklifts and other material handling equipment.
  • Valid overhead crane operator certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • Lifting and rigging up to 30 tons.
  • Familiarity with relevant certifications, such as AS9100 or ISO 9001, are desirable.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and general comfortability with computers and other technology.
  • Experience working in a team environment, with strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM software, such as: SolidWorks Autodesk Inventor Mastercam GibbsCAM NX Siemens or similar software

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate and assemble mechanical and electrical components ensuring precise tolerances and specifications.
  • Identify and troubleshoot issues with equipment, components, devices, or systems, and perform repairs, calibrations, and adjustments as needed.
  • Develop and implement test procedures to validate the performance of equipment, components, devices, or systems, ensuring compliance with specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Utilize machining capabilities, such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders, welders, shear, press brake, etc. to fabricate parts and components.
  • Operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and other material handling equipment to move and position heavy components, devices, or systems.
  • Inspect and test equipment, components, devices, or systems to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of work performed, test results, and maintenance activities.
  • Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software to manufacture parts and components.
