As an Avionics Technician V, you will serve as the subject matter expert in avionics systems, leading large-scale maintenance projects, and developing advanced maintenance protocols. You will liaise with regulatory bodies and ensure the highest standards of safety and compliance. The Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) business area provides affordable, turn-key command/control, communications, integrated ISR, force protection and security solutions worldwide. The MST team has a long legacy of supporting the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, commercial and international customers with years of experience in platform operations, engineering and full lifecycle management across domains – air, land, sea, space and cyber.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience.
  • Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
  • Specialized expertise in avionics systems and regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to understand and interpret complex, technical, schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and/or publications; ability to route wires per technical drawings.
  • Proficiency in avionics installation tooling, wiring, wiring repair, wiring installation, soldering and crimping techniques.
  • Basic understanding of spectrometer, Oscilloscope, and/or Pitot static equipment.
  • Must have own tools in good working order.
  • Must be able to obtain/maintain security clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance for employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree in Avionics, Electronics, or a related field.
  • Extensive leadership and project management experience.
  • Expertise in advanced diagnostic tools and techniques.
  • Prior experience in a Lead role; the ability to mentor, train, guide, and inspect the work of subordinates.
  • Familiarity with FCC and FCC General Radio Operator License (GROL).
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense, or US Military.

Responsibilities

  • Lead large-scale avionics installation and maintenance projects.
  • Serve as the expert in diagnosing and repairing avionics systems.
  • Develop and implement advanced maintenance procedures.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies to ensure compliance.
  • Mentor and train other avionics technicians.
  • Ensure comprehensive documentation of all maintenance activities.
  • Maintain the highest standards of safety and work quality.
