This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. As part of a hardworking team of specialists, technicians, and engineers, you will primarily support Anomaly recovery efforts as well as support the development, construction, and operation of liquid rocket engine test facilities for various spaceflight systems. You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of liquid rocket engine testing from test facility repair, construction to operation and maintenance, reporting to the Shift Leader. You will demonstrate operational excellence in test stand procedure execution, reviewing, improving, and following test procedures and processes. Working with engineers on planning and executing assembly for complex instrumentation and control systems, you will fabricate, install, and checkout wiring harnesses as well as assist the mechanical team as needed. We will rely on you to lead troubleshooting as needed with electronic systems and electrical ground support equipment. You will safely work with and around hazardous chemicals and high pressure fluid systems. Finally, you will identify opportunities for continuous improvements to promote workplace safety, achieve cost-savings, and make test stand operations more streamlined and consistent. Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in an electrical field
  • 2+ years’ experience in rocket engine testing
  • Ability to closely follow electrical diagrams and schematics
  • Familiar with Data Acquisition Systems, instrumentation, and general electronics
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Nice To Haves

  • Deploy to any Blue Origin site within 48 hours of an anomaly response request (desired within 24 hours)

Responsibilities

  • Lead troubleshooting and rebuild of electronics, video and electrical ground support equipment.
  • Read and closely follow electrical diagrams and schematics
  • Work with Data Acquisition Systems, instrumentation, and general electronic
  • Rebuild test cell as needed
  • Execute high-priority troubleshooting, maintenance, and integration tasks during anomaly and outage events
  • Support general team missions in priority order: Primary: Anomaly Response Secondary: Outage Response Tertiary: General Support (CI, Strategic Objectives, Engine Tech Support, Maintenance, Test Stand Support, Launch Support)
  • Fabricate, install, and checkout wiring harnesses
  • Assist the mechanical team as needed
  • Lead troubleshooting with electronic systems and electrical ground support equipment
  • Safely work with and around hazardous chemicals and high pressure fluid systems
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvements to promote workplace safety, achieve cost-savings, and make test stand operations more streamlined and consistent.
