About The Position

The Technician, Repair Shop serves as a detailer, cleaning rental woodwind and percussion instruments and preparing them to return to stock as part of the refurbishment process. The role is responsible for completing work in a timely manner according to established production standards, submitting accurate daily production reports, and reporting quality-control rejects daily. General warehousing and distribution tasks may also be assigned when the employee is not working as a detailer. Additional duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Apprenticeship or a diploma from an accredited repair school.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English.
• Novice proficiency with mechanical tools used for instrument cleaning and repair.
• Novice proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Good mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to work professionally under changing conditions and demands.
• Detail oriented.
• Ability to learn to use standard repair shop tooling and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Detail and clean quality instruments in a timely manner based on established production standards.
• Submit accurate production reports daily.
• Report quality-control rejects daily.
• Perform general warehousing and distribution tasks as needed when not working as a detailer.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
