About The Position

Massanutten Resort is hiring a seasonal Rental Shop Repair Technician. The position involves maintaining ski and snowboard equipment, testing rental binding systems, assisting guests, and handling payments. The technician must keep excellent records of work performed and equipment test results; follow workplace safety policies; stand for extended periods; regularly lift 10 pounds or more; and be able to work outdoors. The role requires basic computer, customer service, and cash-handling skills. Training is provided for current technician and rental binding certifications. The schedule varies and may include weekends, holidays, early mornings, and evenings. Hours range from 16 to 40 per week. Compensation is $13.00 per hour.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Basic computer skills.

Ability to consistently lift 10 or more pounds throughout the shift.

Current technician and rental binding certifications; training is provided.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in the repair shop of a ski or snowboard retail store is preferred; the employer will train the right candidate.
Preferred experience repairing and maintaining ski and snowboard equipment in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Tune skis and snowboards by hand or machine.
Repair damaged skis, boots, poles, and other equipment.
Mount and re-mount bindings and adjust them in accordance with manufacturer standards.
Test boot and binding systems for proper operation.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Serve as an information source for guests.
Handle and accept responsibility for large sums of money.
Quote rates and provide accurate information to resort guests.
Maintain records of duties performed and equipment test results.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
