About The Position

The Manufacturing Technician is a subject matter expert responsible for ensuring that parts and finished products meet quality expectations while performing a variety of duties. Requirements

  • Works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function.
  • Should be able to qualify for the highest-ranking job classification within the Electrician job family.
  • Must have basic PC Skills and be capable of accessing the required computer information to perform the required duties.
  • Familiar with the safe operation of various tools: including but not limited to drills, screw gun, table saw, band saw and routers.
  • Ability to use basic mathematics.
  • Ability to perform all operations within acceptable quality and time standards.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a wide array of mechanical and electrical work, including diagnosing, disassembling, and assembling components, powering up, programming, and completing electrical items on all units.
  • Perform the functions of level 1 technicians and troubleshoot all electrical defects without supervision. Train level 1 technicians to perform their job functions.
  • Wire all electrical systems related to machinery, equipment, and trucks.
  • Analyze, diagnose, and correct electrical and electronic equipment malfunctions.
  • Install, repair, and maintain all production electrical equipment, special-purpose manufacturing systems, office, and factory support equipment.
  • Inspect and test finished machine-produced parts.
  • Identify parts needed and partner with Purchasing to ensure timely delivery.
  • Set up machinery by positioning parts, loading materials, and entering specifications on computers.
  • Monitor one or more stages of the manufacturing process while equipment is running.
  • Complete productivity or other related reports, detailing the number of parts or products made during each shift.
  • Stay current in TPM and perform basic mechanical adjustments on all equipment as needed.
  • Read and interpret detail drawings and dimension styles.
  • Record information required for analysis and decision making including, but not limited to equipment performance, quality, and productivity.
  • Update paperwork and reflect any changes.
  • Interface with engineering to program machine run and set ups.
  • Load parts in machine, cycle machine, and detect malfunctions in machine operations such as worn or damaged cutting tools.
  • Run production lots, communicate with co-workers regarding production runs, and maintain a safe, organized, and clean work environment.
  • Perform all duties according to safety procedures.
