About The Position

The Manufacturing Technician II is responsible for the production of commercial products for the profile of Polysciences’ products. This role involves providing training, troubleshooting, and production of all commercial products as needed. The Manufacturing Technician II supports investigations, corrective actions, safety, and quality improvements on operations within the production teams. We're looking for an Overnight shift (4:00 pm-2:00 am), 4 days per week, Production Technician to support our growing operations and customer base and identify further opportunities for growth.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a laboratory manufacturing setting preferred, but not required.
  • Basic knowledge of Chemistry glassware and equipment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products
  • Mechanical knowledge and aptitude
  • Ability to understand and execute approved batch instructions.
  • Experience with chemical handling is required.
  • Ability to clean and maintain production equipment (reactors, blenders, filtration vessels, scales, carts, and miscellaneous glassware)- required
  • Experience with hand tools to assemble production equipment - required
  • Experience working with controlled documents and established operating procedures.
  • Good Documentation Practice
  • Ability to read and understand an MSDS.
  • Must have legal authorization to work in the US and will not require sponsorship.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent problem solving and documentation skills.
  • Ability to read technical documents and manuals.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safety and quality standards.
  • Knowledge of high school level science (chemistry, physical chemistry, mathematics).
  • Experience running a blending, compounding, or purification operation using common chemicals found within industry.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in an ISO 13485 environment desired.
  • Forklift certification preferred
  • Experience being involved in quality audits preferred
  • Commercialization scale up experience preferred
  • Previous OSHA/HAZwoper training preferred
  • ERP systems preferred.
  • Electronic maintenance programs preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform synthesis and blend batches for the profile of Polysciences’ as published on the weekly production schedule
  • Receive training as required to execute established production processes.
  • Work cross functionally with other operational teams to resolve equipment and technical issues as they arise.
  • Complete and document all activities and deviations per company GDP and QMS standards.
  • Complete departmental PM and daily activities per established procedures.
  • Aid non-conformance investigations and adapt corrective actions within time allotted as assigned by management.
  • Support transfer of NPIs with engineering, validation, and commercial training.
  • Ensure safe working environment by following procedures, protocols, and 5s visual standards.
  • Report any near-misses, accidents, or safety violations immediately. Assist as needed in EHS investigations.
  • Contribute to inventory accuracy by ensuring batch issuance, consumable usage, and waste tracking per assigned batch tickets.
