About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Low Voltage Technician to join our team at Walmart. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our low voltage systems. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to excellence, integrity, and customer service.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Hold and maintain jurisdiction-required certification and license for the state/jurisdiction of work (reciprocal license may apply and licensing requirements vary by state)
  • Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report
  • Commercial driving record with no DUI, DWI, or OUI convictions within the last five (5) years
  • Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations within the last three (3) years
  • Commercial driving record with no preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle within the last three (3) years
  • Commercial driving record with no serious traffic violations, as defined by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, within the last three (3) years
  • Ability to successfully complete a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical and obtain medical certification valid for at least one (1) year
  • Ability to read and speak in the English language
  • 1 year’s experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related technical trade OR 2 years’ Walmart store experience
  • Experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment
  • Experience in local electrical codes and standards

  • Technical training or certification in low voltage systems
  • BICSI Installer Certification
  • CompTIA certifications for networking (e.g., Network+)
  • Manufacturer-specific certifications (e.g., Honeywell, Axis, or Bosch systems)
  • OSHA 10- or 30-hour certification/training
  • NICET 1 & 2 Fire Alarm certification
  • CompTIA certifications for networking (for example, Network+)
  • Experience using intermediate level functionality of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (for example, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Manufacturer-specific certifications (for example, Honeywell, Axis, or Bosch systems)
  • NICET Level 1 or 2 Fire Alarm Certification
  • OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour safety certification
  • Technical training or certification in low voltage systems

Responsibilities

  • Address customer inquiries and concerns professionally and efficiently
  • Ensure all installations and repairs adhere to local, state, and federal regulations
  • Follow all safety guidelines to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of installations, maintenance, and repairs
  • Evaluate existing systems to determine if upgrades or enhancements are needed
  • Perform system upgrades to improve performance or comply with new standards
  • Work closely with other technicians, engineers, and project managers to ensure successful project completion
  • Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and provide appropriate solutions
  • Stay abreast of the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices
