About The Position

This position involves setting up, installing, configuring, and supporting various low voltage systems, including security, fire alarms, CCTV, audio/visual, and network cabling. The role requires running, terminating, labeling, and testing cables according to project specifications and industry standards. Responsibilities include performing routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and functional testing to ensure system reliability. The technician will diagnose and resolve system faults, repair or replace components, and evaluate existing systems for upgrades. Accurate record-keeping and reporting of installations, inspections, and repairs are essential. The role also involves providing technical support and training to end-users, communicating effectively with clients, and collaborating with other team members. A key aspect of the job is safely operating and maintaining a company vehicle, including performing basic preventive maintenance and ensuring all documentation is current. Adherence to safety guidelines, company policies, and ethical standards is paramount. The position requires demonstrating up-to-date expertise, building partnerships, and implementing business solutions while maintaining a focus on continuous improvement and adaptability.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Hold and maintain jurisdiction-required certification and license for the state/jurisdiction of work (reciprocal license may apply and licensing requirements vary by state).
Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
Commercial driving record with no DUI, DWI, or OUI convictions within the last five (5) years.
Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations within the last three (3) years.
Commercial driving record with no preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle within the last three (3) years.
Commercial driving record with no serious traffic violations, as defined by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, within the last three (3) years.
Ability to successfully complete a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical and obtain medical certification valid for at least one (1) year.
As required by section 391.11(b)(2) of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, ability to read and speak in the English language.
1 year’s experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related technical trade.
2 years’ Walmart store experience.
Experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
Experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
Experience in local electrical codes and standards.

Nice To Haves

CompTIA certifications for networking (for example, Network+).
Experience using intermediate level functionality of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (for example, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Manufacturer-specific certifications (for example, Honeywell, Axis, or Bosch systems).
NICET Level 1 or 2 Fire Alarm Certification.
OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour safety certification.
Technical training or certification in low voltage systems.

Responsibilities

Sets up, installs, configures, and supports low voltage systems, including security systems, fire alarms, CCTV, audio/visual systems, and network cabling.
Runs, terminates, labels, and tests cabling in accordance with project requirements, technical specifications, and industry standards.
Performs routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and functional testing to ensure system reliability and performance.
Diagnoses, troubleshoots, and resolves system faults, outages, and performance issues to minimize downtime.
Repairs or replaces damaged components and restores systems to optimal operating condition.
Evaluates existing systems to identify opportunities for upgrades, enhancements, or compliance with new standards.
Performs system upgrades to improve performance, reliability, and regulatory compliance.
Maintains accurate records of installations, inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities.
Generates reports related to system performance, issues resolved, and maintenance activities.
Provides technical support and training to end users on the proper operation and basic maintenance of low voltage systems.
Addresses customer and stakeholder inquiries and concerns professionally, accurately, and efficiently.
Communicates effectively with clients to understand requirements and recommend appropriate technical solutions.
Works collaboratively with other technicians, engineers, project managers, and business partners to ensure timely and high-quality project completion.

Conducts routine vehicle safety checks, including fuel and fluid levels, brakes, lights, turn signals, and other operational systems.
Ensures vehicles have all required documentation for lawful operation and verifies the validity of vehicle insurance coverage.
Coordinates and transports vehicles for required maintenance or inspections, ensuring alternate driving support is arranged in advance when needed.
Submits vehicle maintenance and repair invoices timely for payment while maintaining assigned schedules and driving quality standards.
Follows all safety guidelines to prevent accidents and maintain a safe working environment.
Wears company-issued uniform and badge according to company policies and procedures.
Demonstrates, promotes, and supports compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity.
