About The Position

This position is responsible for assisting in the operation of multiple facilities. An individual in this position will be expected to perform additional job related responsibilities and duties as assigned and/or as necessary. Sets up and configures various low voltage systems (for example, security systems, fire alarms, CCTV, audio/video systems, network cabling). Runs, terminates, and labels cables according to project requirements and industry standards. Performs regular maintenance checks to ensure system functionality and reliability. Identifies and resolves issues in low voltage systems promptly to minimize downtimes. Fixes any faults or damages in systems, ensuring they are restored to optimal working condition. Provides technical support. Provides training and support to end users on how to operate and maintain low voltage systems. Addresses customer inquiries and concerns professionally and efficiently. Ensures all installations and repairs adhere to local, state, and federal regulations. Follows all safety guidelines to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment. Maintains accurate and detailed records of installations, maintenance, and repairs. Generates reports on system performance, issues resolved, and maintenance activities. Evaluates existing systems to determine if upgrades or enhancements are needed. Performs system upgrades to improve performance or comply with new standards. Works closely with other technicians, engineers, and project managers to ensure successful project completion. Communicates effectively with clients to understand their needs and provide appropriate solutions. Stays abreast of the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices. Leads and participates in teams by using and sharing resources, information, and tools; determining customer needs and business priorities; coordinating and executing work assignments; providing advice, feedback, and support to ensure timelines and work quality are achieved; and modeling and helping others with how to adapt to change or new challenges. Develops, communicates, and implements processes and practices to meet business needs by collaborating with managers, co-workers, customers, and other business partners; analyzing and applying information from multiple sources; monitoring progress and results; and identifying and addressing improvement opportunities. Demonstrates, promotes, and supports compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity by explaining, guiding, and demonstrating how to apply these in executing business processes and practices; implementing related action plans; using the Open Door Policy; and assisting management with correcting ethical and compliance issues and problems.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior work experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Prior work experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
  • Prior work experience in role requiring knowledge of local electrical codes and standards.
  • Commercial driving record with no DUI, DWI, or OUI convictions within the last five (5) years.
  • Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations within the last three (3) years.
  • Commercial driving record with no preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle within the last three (3) years.
  • Commercial driving record with no serious traffic violations, as defined by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, within the last three (3) years.
  • Ability to successfully complete a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical and obtain medical certification valid for at least one (1) year.
  • As required by section 391.11(b)(2) of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, ability to read and speak in the English language.
  • Option 1: 1 year’s experience in electrical, material handling equipment, or related technical trade.
  • Option 2: 2 years’ Walmart store experience.
  • Experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
  • Experience in local electrical codes and standards.

  • BICSI Installer Certification.
  • CompTIA certifications for networking (for example, Network+).
  • Manufacturer-specific certifications (for example, Honeywell, Axis, or Bosch systems).

  • Experience using intermediate level functionality of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (for example, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Manufacturer-specific certifications (for example, Honeywell, Axis, or Bosch systems).
  • NICET Level 1 or 2 Fire Alarm Certification.
  • OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour safety certification.
