About The Position

This position is responsible for assisting in the operation of multiple facilities. An individual in this position will be expected to perform additional job related responsibilities and duties as assigned and/or as necessary. The role involves setting up and configuring various low voltage systems, running, terminating, and labeling cables, performing maintenance checks, and resolving issues in low voltage systems. Additionally, the technician will provide technical support and training to end users, ensure compliance with regulations, follow safety guidelines, and maintain accurate records. The position also requires evaluating systems for upgrades, performing system upgrades, and collaborating with other team members and clients. The role emphasizes leadership through teamwork, communication, and process development, while upholding company policies and values.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Prior work experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
Prior work experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
Prior work experience in role requiring knowledge of local electrical codes and standards.
Commercial driving record with no DUI, DWI, or OUI convictions within the last five (5) years.
Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations within the last three (3) years.
Commercial driving record with no preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle within the last three (3) years.
Commercial driving record with no serious traffic violations, as defined by Federal Motor Safety Regulations, within the last three (3) years.
Ability to successfully complete a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical and obtain medical certification valid for at least one (1) year.
As required by section 391.11(b)(2) of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, ability to read and speak in the English language.
Option 1: 1 year’s experience in electrical, material handling equipment, or related technical trade.
Option 2: 2 years’ Walmart store experience.
Experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
Experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
Experience in local electrical codes and standards.

Nice To Haves

Training or certification in low voltage systems.
BICSI Installer Certification.
CompTIA certifications for networking (for example, Network+).
Manufacturer-specific certifications (for example, Honeywell, Axis, or Bosch systems).
OSHA 10 or 30 hour certification/training.
NICET 1 & 2 Fire Alarm certification.
CompTIA certifications for networking (for example, Network+).
Experience using intermediate level functionality of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (for example, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Technical training or certification in low voltage systems.

Responsibilities

Sets up and configures various low voltage systems (for example, security systems, fire alarms, CCTV, audio/video systems, network cabling).
Runs, terminates, and labels cables according to project requirements and industry standards.
Performs regular maintenance checks to ensure system functionality and reliability.
Identifies and resolves issues in low voltage systems promptly to minimize downtimes.
Fixes any faults or damages in systems, ensuring they are restored to optimal working condition.
Provides technical support.
Provides training and support to end users on how to operate and maintain low voltage systems.
Addresses customer inquiries and concerns professionally and efficiently.
Ensure all installations and repairs adhere to local, state, and federal regulations.
Follows all safety guidelines to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
Maintains accurate and detailed records of installations, maintenance, and repairs.
Generates reports on system performance, issues resolved, and maintenance activities.
Evaluates existing systems to determine if upgrades or enhancements are needed.
Performs system upgrades to improve performance or comply with new standards.
Works closely with other technicians, engineers, and project managers to ensure successful project completion.
Communicates effectively with clients to understand their needs and provide appropriate solutions.
Stays abreast of the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
Leads and participates in teams by using and sharing resources, information, and tools; determining customer needs and business priorities; coordinating and executing work assignments; providing advice, feedback, and support to ensure timelines and work quality are achieved; and modeling and helping others with how to adapt to change or new challenges.
