About The Position

As an intern at the dealership, you will learn Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) protocols and procedures through hands-on experience. You will work closely with experienced professionals to develop an understanding of technical standards and practices and build practical skills for a future technician career. The role includes assisting with repair-order work, diagnosis and repairs, vehicle inspections, documentation, and safe use and care of dealership tools and equipment.

Requirements

Must be enrolled in an accredited post-secondary technical school.
Must obtain a valid driver's license.
Must be able to work while maintaining mandatory school hours.
Must be building a workable toolbox.

Responsibilities

Assist in completing repair-order work efficiently and accurately according to dealership and factory standards.
Observe and assist with diagnosing malfunctions and performing repairs in accordance with OEM guidelines.
Coordinate with the parts department to obtain necessary parts.
Save and tag parts for warranty purposes or at the customer's request.
Examine assigned vehicles to identify additional safety or service work that may be needed or recommended.
Immediately notify the service advisor when additional work is needed, outlined work is unnecessary, or repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.
Document work performed and recommended on the repair order.
Report machinery defects or malfunctions to the supervisor.
Maintain and be accountable for dealership-owned tools and manuals.
Operate tools and equipment safely.
Attend and complete assigned company training.
Perform other duties as assigned.
