About The Position

Under the direction of Quality Management, this person is responsible for the review of maps provided by the EVS systems, determining which photos should be filtered or marked as a defect to show at Inspection. Troubleshoot EVS system issues if they occur. Shade testing of material sampled provided by Inspection or personally retrieved due to urgency. Hours: 8PM-4AM

Requirements

  • Understanding of textile manufacturing methods
  • Communication and presentation skills
  • Advanced PC skills; copy and paste file between file folders, understand the structure of the file system on a PC running Windows OS, understand how network storage is used, remotely monitor computer systems.
  • Read, write, and speak and understand in English, in order to interpret documents such as specifications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, reports, business correspondence, regulatory and procedure manuals
  • Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to record numbers on required paperwork
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with co-workers, Supervisors and Managements.
  • Work independently with little or no supervision and be a team player
  • Meet behaviors established in Company performance management and development process.
  • Effectively organize, set priorities, schedule assigned work; oversee multiple and rapidly changing priorities
  • Pay attention to detail
  • Effectively execute tasks
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Outlook (receiving and forwarding attachments)
  • Willingness to learn and grow.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of the business.
  • Knowledge of textile defects and the ability to identify the potential source of the defect.
  • Must be available to work 7 days a week
  • Absolute reliability required

Responsibilities

  • Learn EVS system hardware & mapping process
  • Be able to distinguish defects presented from the EVS systems
  • Be able to troubleshoot the EVS/inspection system as needed
  • Assist in determining potential causes of the defects based off patterns or details from the EVS system.
  • Monitor and communicate quality issues, to leads and operators, that are identified during real time remote monitoring
  • Assist Operations and Engineering in root cause analysis.
  • Pick up shade samples from floor, cut and measure material from Inspection using the X-rite spectro equipment
  • Update shade information in Basics/computer
  • Use daily Offline email and direct Customer Service communications to shade urgent material as necessary
  • Assist in the creation of swatch boxes as required by customers
  • High level of communication via email or phone
  • Follow all safety standards
