About The Position

This position's primary responsibilities will include various aspects of maintenance and support for facilities, utility equipment, and nanofabrication processing equipment. The role requires the use of technical manuals, on-line resources, and OEM representatives to maintain equipment operational with a minimum of downtime. Strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and cleanliness protocols in a cleanroom facility are mandatory. The department is actively recruiting for a Technician III, Technician IV, or Senior Technician I.

Requirements

Minimum qualifications for a Technician III: Bachelor’s degree in a related field or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum qualifications for a Technician IV: Bachelor’s degree in a related field or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum qualifications for a Technician IV: Two years of related experience.
Minimum qualifications for a Senior Technician I: Bachelor’s degree in a related field or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum qualifications for a Senior Technician I: Four years of related experience.
Hands-on experience with the maintenance and operation of a variety of nanofabrication tools, such as thin film deposition, photolithography, metrology, and reactive ion etching tools.
Maintenance experience involving troubleshooting a variety of hardware and software issues on this equipment.
Working knowledge of the facilities associated with a Class 100 cleanroom, such as CDA, N2, air handlers, dirty air scrubbers, and fan filter units.
Excellent communicator.
Ability to work well with AggieFab full-time staff members and undergraduate student workers.

Nice To Haves

Basic level of experience for Technician III.
Moderate level of experience for Technician IV.
Advanced level of experience for Senior Technician I.

Responsibilities

Perform various aspects of maintenance and support for facilities, utility equipment, and nanofabrication processing equipment.
Utilize technical manuals, on-line resources, and OEM representatives to maintain equipment operational with a minimum of downtime.
Strictly adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and cleanliness protocols in a cleanroom facility.
Perform routine troubleshooting and maintenance functions with minimal supervision after substantial on-the-job training (Technician III).
Work in support of technicians or specialized maintenance contractors or OEMs on more complex equipment interventions.
Work with other contractors, engineers, and quality control personnel regarding changes or improvements to the systems.
Demonstrate continuous personal pursuit to increasing job knowledge and proficiency with different systems.
Maintain a positive, professional, and customer-oriented attitude.
Perform routine troubleshooting and maintenance functions with no supervision after training (Technician IV).
Train and guide junior members of the team rapidly (Senior Technician I).
Conduct work with organization and discipline (Senior Technician I).
Make strategic decisions about the management of the AggieFab infrastructure (Senior Technician I).
