Technician II Labs - Exposures (Pipes)
About The Position
NSF is seeking a Technician II for the Exposures Lab - Pipes Team. The role requires basic laboratory skills and an aptitude for understanding and using machines or tools. Experience with plumbing equipment is a plus. This entry-level opportunity offers a chance to learn about product certification work and begin a career in the sciences at a mission-driven company. The shift is Sunday through Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. NSF provides science-driven, independent testing, inspection, certification, and advisory services, and develops standards for the food, water, and life sciences industries. Its laboratory network supports testing and certification services with technical expertise across these industries.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED, plus laboratory experience and/or college-level laboratory coursework.
- One to five years of related experience.
- Knowledge of standard laboratory procedures, including using balances and pipets.
- Ability to work well in a production team environment.
- Mechanical aptitude for working with water system components.
Nice To Haves
- Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree.
- Experience with plumbing equipment.
Responsibilities
- Perform laboratory procedures according to defined processes and standard operating procedures to support product certification.
- Expose water system components to aqueous solutions to help determine possible product contaminants.
- Follow quality and documentation requirements for all laboratory work.
- Properly maintain required laboratory equipment.
