About The Position

NSF is seeking a Technician II for the Exposures Lab - Mechanical Team. This entry-level position supports product certification work and offers an opportunity to develop a career in the sciences at a mission-driven company. The technician will use basic laboratory skills and mechanical aptitude to operate machines and tools, and will help expose water system components to aqueous solutions to determine possible product contaminants. Experience with plumbing equipment is a plus.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Laboratory experience and/or college-level laboratory coursework.
• 1 to 5 years of related experience.
• Knowledge of standard laboratory procedures, including the use of balances and pipets.
• Ability to work well in a production team environment.
• Mechanical aptitude to work with water system components.

Nice To Haves

• Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree.
• Experience with plumbing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory procedures according to defined processes and standard operating procedures to support product certification.
• Expose water system components to aqueous solutions to help determine possible product contaminants.
• Follow quality and documentation requirements for all laboratory work.
• Properly maintain required laboratory equipment.
