About The Position

This role is part of Alcon's Engineering function, a team focused on improving quality, processes, products, packaging and materials across our business to help deliver brilliant outcomes. The Electromechanical Technician I is primarily responsible for performing technical tasks related to electro-mechanical systems, including troubleshooting, testing, assembling, installing, calibrating, and repairing equipment. You will be expected to build effective and meaningful relationships with engineers to develop technical solutions.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
  • 1 Year of Relevant Experience

Nice To Haves

  • Industrial Maintenance Experience.
  • Experience troubleshooting & repairing production equipment.
  • A related technical school certification or equivalent training or experience (e.g. manufacturing technology, electrical engineering, etc.)
  • Solid foundation in robotics, electrical systems, computers, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to perform qualitative analysis of data is a plus.
  • Usage of CAD package is a plus.
  • Ability to interpret engineering blueprints, drawings, and study sample parts for machining work.
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance by troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing components on production equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance (PMs).
  • Help with the execution of CCRs and validations.
  • Detail work accurately per company and regulatory policies (within Maximo, on test scripts/protocols, etc.)
  • Be the first responder for potential SIF conditions (if applicable).
  • Support engineering and MS&T projects as needed.
  • May take part in CAPA and/or FEMA activities.
  • Participate in small-size projects for continuous process and yield improvement within and outside of functional area.
  • Ensure smooth daily operations between engineering and providing parts and tooling support.
  • Confer with engineering, supervisory, and manufacturing personnel to exchange technical information.
  • Assist supervisor and production support lead in tests and trials for potential process changes and improvements.
