About The Position

Technician Intertek, a leading provider of quality and safety solutions to many of the world’s top-recognized brands and companies, is actively seeking a Technician to join our Building & Construction team in our Cliffwood, NJ office. The Building & Construction team provides assurance, testing, inspection, and certification services and building science solutions to deliver Total Quality Assurance to the built environment. The team offers the architectural, engineering and construction (A/E/C) industry with a full suite of capabilities both in the lab and on site. Building Products Testing Solutions From code compliance to performance testing to product certification - our commitment is to build a lasting partnership with our customers. We enable them to work with a single source to get their product the market access success they need. The Technician will support the Building and Construction business by performing scheduled field tasks at construction sites under the direction of other technicians or engineering professionals. We are looking for Entry-Level Technicians that have the drive and ambition to learn and grow with the company, who will assist and be trained by existing Senior Field Technicians in various tasks performed by the Cliffwood, NJ facility at construction projects.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED
No Experience Required - you will be trained by Senior Field Technicians in all tasks
Interest in learning the Building and Construction Industry
Comfortable using MS Office applications (Word/Excel/Outlook)
Must be punctual, reliable with good attention to detail and communication skills
Able to work with others in a cohesive manner and follow direction
Ability to climb ladders, bend, crawl, push and pull, stretch, sit, walk and stand for extended periods of time during all types of weather conditions
Ability to lift up to 50lbs
Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record (required)

Nice To Haves

Certifications with ACI, ICC, NJDCA, a plus

Responsibilities

Perform/Assist with scheduled daily field/office tasks with other team members
Perform a variety of inspections and tests based on project specifics
Neatly and accurately complete all required paperwork, including daily reports, test reports and timesheets – in a timely manner
Perform maintenance/cleaning of equipment as needed
Adhere to construction site safety guidelines and promote a safe working environment
Other tasks as needed or assigned
