About The Position

Intertek, a leading provider of quality and safety solutions, is seeking a Technician to join its Building & Construction team in Cliffwood, NJ. This team offers assurance, testing, inspection, and certification services, along with building science solutions for the architectural, engineering, and construction (A/E/C) industry. The Technician will support the business by performing field tasks at construction sites under the direction of senior staff. This is an entry-level position where the successful candidate will be trained by Senior Field Technicians in various tasks performed at construction projects.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED
No Experience Required - you will be trained by Senior Field Technicians in all tasks
Interest in learning the Building and Construction Industry
Comfortable using MS Office applications (Word/Excel/Outlook)
Must be punctual, reliable with good attention to detail and communication skills
Able to work with others in a cohesive manner and follow direction
Ability to climb ladders, bend, crawl, push and pull, stretch, sit, walk and stand for extended periods of time during all types of weather conditions
Ability to lift up to 50lbs
Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record (required)

Nice To Haves

Certifications with ACI, ICC, NJDCA, a plus

Responsibilities

Perform/Assist with scheduled daily field/office tasks with other team members
Perform a variety of inspections and tests based on project specifics
Neatly and accurately complete all required paperwork, including daily reports, test reports and timesheets – in a timely manner
Perform maintenance/cleaning of equipment as needed
Adhere to construction site safety guidelines and promote a safe working environment
Other tasks as needed or assigned
